Senior Technology Lead

Responsiv is looking for a dynamic and energetic Senior Technology Lead to help shape Responsiv as a leading software engineering company by taking ownership and a leadership of our technical capabilities in all areas of solution design and development using Open Source, IBM Hybrid Cloud, and RedHat OpenShift or Kubernetes software.

The role includes strategic software product planning and ownership as well as providing hands-on experience to the consulting and development teams. Taking direction from the Responsiv board you will conceive and deliver our Responsiv Unity platform and other products on our product roadmap, take responsibility for internal systems, provide technical leadership and vision for customer projects, as well as supporting pre-sales support to our sales team and customers. 

Package

Salary: £55,000 – £65,000

About the role

This role is responsible for leading the technical design and development of Responsiv products for resale, internal systems used by Responsiv to conduct business, technical leadership on customer projects, and providing technical mentoring to staff and customers.

Our Product development is based on the premise that we are building business solutions that deliver measurable benefits to our customers. It makes sense that we use them ourselves; so all internal development is conducted, as far as reasonable, to the same standards and quality as our product development, and designed to fit with the Responsiv Unity platform.

We have a single DevOps pipeline that assures software quality and repeatibility, and this role will take leadership of all product development; internal and external.

Custom Solution development for customer solutions is accelerated by using extenders and code/design assets owned by Responsiv. Customer solutions are developed separately from our product and external software, using the same approach. This role will take leadership of all techncial oversight of customer solution development. 

This is a leadership role that will include dealing with senior management in Responsiv and our customers, including preparing and delivering proposals or reports and presentations to management and customer teams. Also for maintaining the relevant strategic materials, standards, and operational documentation.

Strategic influence

The role has ownership of the Responsiv Product roadmaps for internal and external products and services. It is responsible for defining and delivering the multi-year strategy. The roadmap will be influenced by our market insights, and other parts of the business, including customers and sales.

About you

You have a good degree in a recognised STEM subject with at least 7 years of experience with Solution architecture, component design, and with leading technical teams that are developing software products for commercial resale. You may have a desire to be head of development, CTO, or similar (titles vary).

You are very comfortable with having responsibility for key technical decisions and problem resolution. You own challenges to completion, delivering to tight deadlines, and coordinating multiple stakeholders.

You are practiced with modern DevOps and development techniques with a broad knowledge and appreciation of the art of the possible. You are skilled researching and developing software designs, and with presenting and sharing understanding and insights about our products, and the business opportunities they represent.

You will demonstrate experience and a track record for owning problems and delivering results. You have examples of design, architecture, and other materials that demonstrate a command of communication styles. You have excellent written and spoken English, and evidence of your ability to understand new ideas and articulate them to an audience.

Much of your role is to mentor less experienced members of staff, provide ongoing technical direction to projects, and to influence company technical policy. We expect that much of your time will be spent in the Bracknell office, you must live within reasonable daily commuting distance of the Responsiv office.
