This briefing is for customers who require additional resources for their Responsiv Cloud Platform

Responsiv Cloud Platforms use standardised capacity to support a typical profile of use. Each platform can be scaled to increase its capacity to store information, and to handle larger demands for compute resources or memory consumption.

Expansion packs are available for customers with specific business needs, including high-capacity workloads, throughput, low latency and mixed latency requirements, and high memory demands.

Responsiv Cloud Platforms Overview

When a customer purchases a Responsiv Cloud Platform we create a “Customer Place”, which is an isolated network with support components capable of supporting one or more Responsiv Cloud Platforms.

Each Responsiv Cloud Platform acquired by the customer is configured inside their customer-place. The result is a secure region of cloud dedicated to a single customer.

Each Responsiv Cloud Platform is configured with a Production (Prod) environment. Many also include User Acceptance Test (UAT) and Development (Dev) environments.

Expansion Packs

Responsiv Cloud Platform Expansion Packs are available under annual subscription and purchased in calendar month increments to co-term with the cloud platform to which they are attached.

This means that a customer with a Responsiv Cloud Platform subscription that runs from January to December will pay for 12 months if the extension is purchased in January and for two months if it is purchased in November. In both cases the subscription will be set to terminate at the same date as the platform. All extensions will be rolled over with the platform and terminate with the platform.

Responsiv Cloud Platform Expansion Packs may be removed from the platform with appropriate notice. The following conditions apply.

  1. Extensions will not be removed if removal undermines stability of the platform.
  2. Extensions will be charged for a minimum duration of 1 month.
  3. Extended capacity will become unavailable to you during the month following your notice period.
  4. An extension will terminate when the platform terminates. In this case availability will terminate with the platform.

Responsiv Cloud Platforms use clustering technology to provide load balancing, resilience, and improved capacity to the service. Extensions to all environments require that each type of cluster member of a balanced cluster are treated the same. This means that to add resource to one cluster member we have to add the same to its partner.

In addition to the specific terms defined in the respective product descriptions, each expansion pack is also subject to the underlying terms of the platform being expanded.

Software licenses, where appropriate, are provided for Responsiv products that form the Responsiv Cloud Platform only. You remain responsible for licensing software in custom platforms and applications purchased to run on the platform.

Responsiv Cloud Compute and Memory Expansion

Responsiv Cloud Compute and Memory Expansion is purchased for a specific environment in a specific platform; one of Production, User Acceptance Test, or Development.

If you need to increase capacity in more than one of these environments, they will each need a separate expansion agreement.

The product provides one virtual core (vCore) and 8GB of memory (vMemory) that is attached to the environment and allocated by the Responsiv Cloud support team as needed.

Responsiv will allocate vCores and Memory to maximise the benefit to your specific workload and assure that high availability and clustered components are balanced.

The Responsiv Cloud Compute and Memory Expansion includes:

  • Installation Services
  • 1 virtual (cloud) core
  • 8GB of virtual memory
  • Software Licensing[1] to extend the cloud platform
  • Management and Monitoring of the extended platform

Responsiv Cloud Storage Expansion

Responsiv Cloud Storage Expansion is purchased for a specific cloud platform. If you have multiple cloud platforms, they will each need separate storage expansion agreements.

The product provides a pool of disk storage that is attached to the platform and allocated by the Cloud Platform to each environment (Production, User Acceptance, and Development) as needed. Responsiv will allocate attached storage using increments of 100GB.

Customers with specific needs can attach the pool to a specific platform environment to address particular needs.

The Responsiv Cloud Storage Expansion includes:

  • Installation Services (Free)
  • 1TB of useable space on a RAID protected disk.
  • Extends an existing Responsiv Cloud Backup Service agreement[2]
  • Management and monitoring of disk capacity use.

Responsiv Cloud Backup Service

The Responsiv Cloud Backup Service is available as a separate option for customers who wish to backup and recover their content.

Responsiv Cloud production platforms are protected by dual installations and mirrored disk systems to ensure that your platform is highly available. The Responsiv Cloud Backup Service extends high availability to include your applications, configurations, and business data.

Responsiv Cloud Backup Service includes:

  • Backup of all server configurations, source-code, business data, and applications
  • Recovery of server configurations, source-code, business data, and applications
  • Recovery of specific source-code or configurations for up to 30 days.

Responsiv Cloud Backup Service subscriptions are needed for each Responsiv Cloud Platform that you wish to protect.

This service is only available for backups to Responsiv Cloud Platforms. Please contcat Responsiv for information about off-site backups of your self-hosted installations.

The Responsiv Cloud Backup Service is used to extend the capability of an existing (parent) Responsiv Cloud Platform subscription.

The service is co-termed with the parent platform and rolls over to continue with the parent’s subscription renewal. The service may be cancelled at any time with notice.

The product enables agents on the platform to control and enable the installed software, configuration, embedded data, and source-code to be backed up.

Responsiv will allocate sufficient backup storage space to maintain backups for the purchased duration (See product description).

The Responsiv Cloud Backup Service includes:

  • Installation Services.
  • Backup Storage.
  • Software Licensing[3] to provide this service.
  • Management of the service.
  • Recovery Services (10 hours allowance for discretionary recoveries)[4]

You can request data recovery by contacting the Responsiv service desk. Your subscription includes credits to be used for this purpose. In the event of a service failure and when appropriate, Responsiv will use backups to recover your information and the service.

[1] Responsiv software licensing is provided products that form the Responsiv Cloud Platform only. You will be responsible for licensing software in custom platforms and applications purchased to run on the platform.

[2] Recovered backups are to be applied to the Responsiv Cloud Platform. They are not available for download, except with Responsiv explicit consent and assurance that they do not contain sensitive information that may undermine the platform security or the security of your data.
