Supply Chain

Responsiv provide solutions for supply chain visibility, traceability, and compliance. We have also invested in uncovering a circular textiles supply chain in the UK.

Do you lack insight into your supply chain?

A major barrier to organisations seeking to implement sustainable and compliant practices is a lack of supply chain assurance.

Understanding what happens at early and late stages of the supply chain inhibits the ability to assure sustainability and compliance throughout. How can you assert there is no unfavourable activity if you have no sight of it? Ignorance is not always bliss.

Integrating and visualising the supply chain is no easy feat, but it is possible.

Traceability of tamperproof and auditable data can aid organisations with providing regulatory evidence of environmental and social (modern slavery) compliance.

Traceability allows organisations to track and trace products and goods across the supply chain, meet regulatory requirements, understand the actors in the supply chain, and provide information to stakeholders and customers.

Achieving this requires the existence and storage of, access to, and auditing of supply chain data from start to finish. Responsiv provide solutions for analysing and accessing data from across disparate IT systems.

Currently, we are working as a partner to define and build a Supply Chain Insights solution that combines automation and integration to map out a previously undefined circular textiles supply chain.

The project will allow stakeholders from any part of the supply chain to submit data about inputs and outputs, including transfer and waste documets that can be securely passed to authorised suppliers and partners. The result is a linked set of data that traces textiles from raw material to disposal. The value of this is a completeliy auditable data repository that is secure (to protect trade secrets) whilst assuring traceability at every stage of the chain.

Companies can achieve visibility using a combination of technology, data, and processes to view and monitor activities throughout the supply chain.

This capability supports supply chain resilience by providing the oversight required to adapt to changes in supplier and consumer trends and bottlenecks.

Integrating disparate systems from different tiers in a supply chain can be complex. Responsiv specialise in integrating data and automating business processes, which can help retailers to collect data a 360 view of insights and reports.

The global supply chain is in constant flux, with evolving retail industry regulations driving change. Adhering to regulation and standards allows organisations to demonstrate their environmental responsibility against regulations including Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), ESG, as well as human rights and modern slavery.

Sourcing and presenting this data in an efficient and secure manner, whilst supporting a disparate supply chain with a multitude of IT systems and data sources is critical. Ensuring data is reliable and tamperproof is also vital when providing it as evidence of compliance.

Responsiv is well placed to create and enable the capability to securely share data across the supply chain, and support the variety of use cases (regulatory and sustainability reporting) the data is needed for.

Responsiv can help to integrate data and automate business process. This may include integrating into a specific ESG system to provide dashboards of information for monitoring and pulling reports, or for automating the process of data gathering to fill a predefined report template for audit purposes.

Responsiv, in partnership with UKFT and Innovate UK, is investing in developing a platform to gather and provide supply chain insight for the management of discarded textiles.

The project seeks to define and uncover industry standards for textile categorisation and disposal, finding optimisations to improve the viability of the new supply chain whilst maintaining security of competitive information.

Data is captured once and then transformed and used for multiple purposes in auditable ways, without the need to touch the source systems again for the same information, and to ensure data providers are confident in the use of their data.

Responsiv contribute expertise knowledge and experience of enterprise integration and automation, making us critical to accessing and securing the necessary data from a broad range of systems.

How can traceability solutions address sustainability concerns?

Traceability tools provide visibility into the origin of raw materials, transportation methods, and production processes. Tools such as these can track the entire life cycle of goods and products, and can be used to monitor and optimise operations for environmental and social sustainability, such as reducing carbon emissions or ensuring practices.

How does traceability and visibility technology ensure supply chain compliance?

L

Traceability and visibility technologies capture data at each point in a supply chain. This data is then managed and stored in databases, providing a comprehensive record of a products journey. By analysing the data collected, retailers can monitor compliance with industry standards and regulations. Any non-compliance can be identified and resolved quickly.

How do I stay on top of my sustainability compliance (ESG) reporting?

Utilise traceability and visibility tools to get transparency and data insights across the entire supply chain. Traceability technology can track and record energy consumption, emissions, and usage across a supply chain to allowing organisations to identify areas with the highest emissions and compliance risks.
